Cliffs Of Moher New Visitor Experience Begins To Take Shape
As the €31 million (US$39.5 million)
makeover at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience nears
completion, the walking route leading to the spectacular Cliffs
has begun to shed its construction zone appearance while vastly
improving the overall visitor experience.
Katherine Webster from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience
gives us an update on the project's progress since we last spoke
to her on the Irish Fireside Podcast Episode #6.
Cliffs Of Moher Update
by Katherine
Webster, Director - Cliffs of Moher New Visitor Experience
The
exciting news from the Cliffs is that the structure of the new
Visitor Centre is now complete and crews have started to reinstate
the grassy hillside back over the building. It is now much easier
to envision how landscaping will be integrated into the building's
design.
We have also launched a major recruitment drive to build the new
staff at the Centre. An information evening in the Falls Hotel in
Ennistymon last week (Wed 27 Sep) attracted over 300 attendees
from the local area. With over 100 people directly employed at the
Cliffs of Moher at the height of the summer season, the Centre
will be a major contributor to local employment in North Clare.
Our first group of new staff will begin their comprehensive
training in December in preparation for the new Centre's opening
in early 2007.
The last bit of news I have for you is that we are about to launch
our new website which will serve as the official website for the
Cliffs of Moher. Our target launch date is Monday 9 October and
the URL is www.cliffsofmoher.ie. At the moment an interim site is
in place, but we are working hard to populate the newly designed
website with useful content. It has been designed by County Clare
website design company, Magico, winner of the prestigious "Golden
Spider" award.
That's all for now but I hope to see you at the Cliffs soon.
